If you’re ever hospitalized due to an illness or injury, getting well should be your main focus. If you’re ever confined to the hospital, have surgery, or visit the emergency room, your major medical insurance will cover many of the medical expenses. But even with a great health insurance plan, you may be left with out-of-pocket expenses or lost income if you have to miss work. Group Hospital indemnity insurance from Aflac can help provide a financial cushion while you or a family member recovers.

What is Aflac Group Hospital Indemnity?
A member’s cost for a hospital stay adds up quickly. Even a short hospital stay can set the stage for financial difficulties that last for years. Aflac Group Hospital Indemnity Insurance provides supplemental benefits that enhance existing coverage and prepare members for the unexpected. Aflac pays benefits directly to you for use toward unpaid medical bills or everyday living expenses, such as your rent or mortgage, utilities, and groceries.
Members may choose from two different plan types, Plan 2 or Plan 4, with Plan 4 having some greater benefits. The plans are offered with guaranteed issue as long as you are currently working and your spouse is able to work. The plans offer hospital admission benefits ($300 or $500), hospital confinement benefits ($200 or $300 per day) and various surgery benefits ($500–$3,000). Doctor visits ($50), lab tests ($25), X-rays ($50), and even a prescription benefit ($10 or $20 per prescription) are also included. The plan also offers a $100 mammogram and a $50 Pap smear wellness benefit. There are some benefit payout maximums for a calendar year, so please see the plan details for more information.
We encourage all of our current Aflac policyholders to contact us whenever they see a doctor. Whether they have suffered an injury, were recently ill, or simply have a question regarding their coverage, we want them to feel free to contact us. The Group Hospital Indemnity plan covers more situations than any other group plan, so it’s important that policyholders take advantage of all of the benefits to which they are entitled.
What are current policyholders saying?
“We are very pleased with Aflac. With life’s uncertainties, we utilized the benefits after my work injury that occurred five months after sign-up. Filing a claim is very simple, and we received coverage amounts directly into our bank account within days. I would recommend Aflac for everyone because it covers so much, even annual preventative care.”—Monique and Shannon Edison
